All shells come in their natural colours and shape, no paint was applied, just coated with a light glitter to imitate the sparkling sunlight on the shells at the beach...

A sea shell is a hard, protective outer layer usually created by an animal that lives in the sea.
The shell is part of the body of the animal. Empty seashells are often found washed up on beaches. The shells are empty because the animal has died and the soft parts have decomposed or been eaten by another animal.
Using an empty sea shell does not harm and has not harmed any living creature.
This shell was not living when collected.
Beside the natural sea shell i use vintage and second-hand jewelry components for the chains.
I collect them at antique and second-hand stores, markets and auctions. All components get cleaned and sanitized thoroughly.
Vintage chains and components can show signs of patina or lightly distressed surfaces. This is intentional and part of the vintage character.
I can´t 100% identify every single vintage or second-hand material i use - but i guarantee that every piece of "TEM"-jewelry is handmade and one-of-a-kind, with the sustainable and ethical character of eco-conscious art, made of natural and local products.
I love and support the idea of recycling and keeping already existing products in the "circle of life".
